How can it be "the worlds toughest row", when it would be so much tougher to be doing it in the other direction?
That would be the impossible row.How can it be "the worlds toughest row", when it would be so much tougher to be doing it in the other direction?
Oh no it isn't https://www.worldstoughestrow.com/history/That would be the impossible row.
Which of those were against the prevailing winds? Ridgeway and Blythe did west to east from much further north, generally with the wind. It wasn't always like that of course and they had a terrible time, I've read the book. It was certainly much tougher than this lot have it.Oh no it isn't History – worldstoughestrow.com
Dawn and Paul will be doing exactly that in the future. How can it be "the worlds toughest row", when it would be so much tougher to be doing it in the other direction?
Against the prevailing conditions.Dawn and Paul will be doing exactly that in the future.
Well not really. They are smart and very experienced ocean rowers so the return passage will set off from much further north in the season. I've sailed the return trip 6 times, it can often be a bit....not much fun.Against the prevailing conditions.
I just found out that Dawn and Paul are using my friend Dave's old boat. I shall follow their progress.Dawn and Paul will be doing exactly that in the future.

One of my crew which won at Henley 40 years ago is taking part in that as well.Dawn and Paul arrived at 1619 today, 42 days 4 hours and 19 minutes passage time. We got some n8ce piccies from friends who are there to greet them and are also one of the boats sponsors.
Depending on the weather, they expect to go sometime in 3 to 10 days to head for Florida.
Epic.

Yes. So many outstanding individual and team rowers crossing the atlantic. My favourite, just finished today, is the "Three Flying Fish" trio who are the youngest to make the crossing and are raising money for the Teenage Cancer TrustDawn and Paul arrived at 1619 today, 42 days 4 hours and 19 minutes passage time. Personally, I think him and all the others taking part in this race need their heads examined.......
