Oh, I also didn't particularly like the fuel tank being held in place by just two bolts. I have added a strap as well, just passed under the same laminated in feet that the tank sits on. No idea if a Centaur tank has ever broken free - but the original system was two rusty screws - if I still has the original tank, I'd check the original screws and/or add a webbing strap.

Finished - engine started today!

Swapped out the injector pump with a spare we bought ages ago. Careful with this job, there is a barrel attachment that needs to be aligned with a barrel shaped fitting inside the engine (think modern quick detach bike brakes and that's pretty close. Get it wrong, you can kill the engine.

Managed to break the water pump in the process - small job.
Also need to replace the teleflex control (sheared off the grub screws when taking it apart).
Little jobs.

Today we celebrate little fluffy white engine exhaust clouds - happy.

I take it that the clouds are steam and not oil smoke? My MD11C smokes a bit untill it's warm, or smokes a lot until it's warm then it smokes a bit.

A day a weekend with some missed - maybe 10 days with other jobs going on around the boat as well.
The white smoke was smoke but wasn't bad at all and it wasn't run to temperature (yet).

excellent news. After my rebuild in 2012 the old girl started 'on the button' at the start of this season and much happiness existed.
