Is there anywhere to moor that doesn’t dry out? (apart from the ferry terminal) before anyone suggests that ?

Maybe in the pool by Royal Vic / Ranleigh works.
Further up, nah, dries to a trickle. As a kid my family owned a yard on the creek, and I have happy memories of rowing a flat bottomed punt over the mud many times to get people off boats which had ground to a halt a few lengths from shore on a falling tide.

I believe a legend owner called Rebel might be a source of info on wootton creek . As a pupil on the island we had a master called Eddie class who kept his yacht on a drying mooring in the creek. My impression is it dried even for dinghies.

My home overlooks the Creek, whilst very lovely, it is very restricted by the tide, I keep my boat at East Cowes Marina for this very reason.
But it's well worth a trip up on a rising tide to explore.

You try the pontoon at the club, they shouldn't be busy and a contribution might swing it.

Yep, latterly, late 70s, even with a boat yard on the creek, a berth was kept at Wilmots, as East Cowes Marina was pre D&R, as infinitely more practical for demonstrations etc.
When I become a “adult“ boat owner, and moved into ECM 18 years back it was a shock to see how much it had changed!

Rebel Marine have pontoons but they do dry. Royal Victoria Yacht Club has a pontoon which is also available for visitors although I'm not sure about during lockdown. I believe this is accessible at all states of the tide but you might want to double check.

Thanks for your input everyone. The RVYC website does state that their pontoon does dry out unfortunately.

I would love to have my rib in view in the Creek, but just too restrictive, As I use the rib for commuting (or did do)I also have a mainland berth at Universal Marina also of Wilmot's fame. Are you still at ECM ?

Yes, Hardy on Q at ECM, and a 6m Rib somewhere between Ukraine and here for start of next season, hopefully on Q as well!
Didn't know Universal was a Wilmot's project. Every day a school day.

Universal is owned/run by Ava Wilmot. Your Hardy is very close to our friends Tim and Jane then, very impressive boat.

The Rib is quite large at 10 meters with a cabin, I did ask if it could go in the tender park, but they were having none of it !

No, it’s a second berth with 50% discount for this new 6m rib. I dipped my toe in the water rib wise last season with a 3.3m rib which I kept on the main berth, this larger one will be pushing it to much.

As some of our IOW friends have gathered on this thread, we're taking a year off from East Cowes to concentrate on work. family, doing other things and give "Infinity" some tlc. At the moment I'm looking at 6 months ashore from April so we can work on her over the warmer months. If we get all the jobs finished, we may return to ECM in the Winter, if not, next year.
We have got some ferry tickets and a tent so no doubt we'll bump into you all from time to time

Plus 1 otherwise how do those visiting ECM “Spot” We tend to be down on A as a Haslar boat but have met colhel on our travels.
