5. Fabricate & Install worm Shoe 540.00

6. Customize & Install Swim platform 260.00

7. Bottom Paint Power washed, scuff and repair blisters
if applicable, prep and recoat bottom,( below waterline) 600.00

8. Repair Reef & Caulk all bottom seams 550.00

12. Materials Shaft Zink 8.00

13. Materials Petit Copper Guard Antifouling Bottom Paint 180.00

14. Materials Mahogany Lumber 380.00

Does this sounds reasonable? I know you really have to see the boat, but it was in the water, floating with the bildge pump starting every 2 minutes.

Thanks for you help and assistance.

That is a very difficult question to answer. Most people on this forum ask for DIY advice.

Have you spoken to other boat owners who have used this yard? Was the work completed on time, to budget and to their satisfaction?

Just noticed you're a new user. Welcome to the forum!

Presumably prices are in US $ in which case the mechanical bits sound reasonable and the haul out charge is low, which suggests not an expensive shop. Whether the quote for hull repairs is good is difficult to say without seeing the boat. Problem with this type of repair is that you can uncover all sors of nasties, but an experienced boatbuilder would have accounted for that.

As said you perhaps need to see other work he has done and talk to other customers.

Thank you

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your input. I have contacted others in the area (Knoxville TN) and this indisvidual has a good reputation. It is a small group of people in this wooden boat repair and I guess reputation is everything.

Again, thanks for your help. I feel more like a steward of this boat, than an owner. It is in beautiful shape and will outlast me. Will make sure that the work is done right.
