Hi all
I have bought a 27 1/2 foot Honeybee yacht that has been a bit neglected. It is currently in my yard on its trailer and I have been trying to strip down the paint (thank goodness for Nitromors). I am planning on taking it back to wood, giving it a good sand and inspecting every last inch.
I have found some white filler here and there under the 25 layers of paint and also the occasional bit of soft wood at a seam (only top 2mm where paint had prev cracked). It is mahogany carvel construction. Just wondered if anyone had tips on what is best to filler any defects. Also should i hoke out any soft wood and fill or is there any treatment that you would paint on?
I will have more questions later about paint, keel bolts, coachroof etc so be prepared
Thanks in advance for any tips
