can anyone tell me the name of the scraper that is burgundy in colour and has replaceable blades, I think from memory it was a German sounding name, I used to own one but alas it got lost years ago
Yes, they do, but they are shaped differently so you can't sharpen them like a Skarsten blade. They also don't stay sharp for long. I have abandoned using my faithful Skarstens and have gone over to the type shown in BarryH's post - there are various makes and the tungsten carbide blades go on for ages. I've a 27-foot wooden boat and have taken 40 years worth of paint off the hull with two similar to that and a hot-air gun, then scraped off lots of varnish, and I'm just recently on to the second edge of the blade.Does anyone know whether the Faithfull blades fit?
What's it called, and from where please?I've been useing one of these...
