The advice from Green Blue is to not use detergent, it aggravates the problem of a spillage on the sea.

extinuish cigars etc in ash trays with a lid on them, even a jam jar is good for this. Then the risk of burning the boat is reduced hence making the clean up easier,less hazardous and more rewarding.
