I have spotted it too, but kind of hoping it will go away in time!
On a seperate point, in Cherbourg Saturday lunchtime, I plan to visit the Yacht Club to 'show my face' in readiness for 17th September. Also, to get more confidence that they are up for it, and know what they are letting themselves in for.
If you are around Tom, or anybody else, wanna join me for a beer?
Well we're off to the Ship at Itchenor on a visitors buoy Friday evening, then lie in Sat Morning then decide on Bembridge or not or Cowes or not or .. well whatever we're on the boat..
Certainly will Nick provided there's not too much fog in the channel. You won't believe what Karen's imagination is capable of in fog- she saw a fully rigged pirate ship coming directly for us whilst approaching Lezardrieux a couple of seasons ago!
I saw one too in thick fog off Start Point years ago, then heard Golden Hind calling Start Point Radio! It was the replica built for a movie, frightened me pretty well, wonderful thing imagination!
[/ QUOTE ]No, Paul, I can't get Friday off work. We're planning (weather willing) to go overnight to France for booze stocking up! Hope you get some decent weather here.
Yep, I've just advised crew that the forecast is a 'suckitandsee' !
WInd guru is showing very light southerly, theyr.net is showing a steady easterly, Inshore forecast is showing SW backing SE, shipping forecast is showing south, all with various mentions of fog.
We will head off late afternoon and see how it looks, dropping back in to Yarmouth if necessary.
