Hello all,

My next fix on the boat is my Eberspacher.

I think there is an issue with the wiring, as that seems to be a common issue with my new to me boat. Someone has previously been 'putting right' the wiring on my boat. Now nothing work.

So far I have checked the fuses, and they are all ok. I have also checked the glow plug.

I think the issue lies in the wiring somewhere. Before I start checking over the weekend with my multimeter, I have been sereachng for a wiring diagram, but I am unable to find one. I am unsure if it is a D1 or D2, but it is old.

Does anyone know where I can find a simple wiring diagram for these units?

Many thanks

What makes you think it is a cabling issue? people rarely fiddle with the actual heater harness, really the first thing to check is that there is decent voltage at the heater when it is trying to start and you don't need a wiring diagram for that. Best you identify the unit first and then you have a fighting chance of getting pointed at a meaningful diagram.

There should be a label on the heater with its part no., serial number, model no., etc. You can however identify them from comparison with photos of the differnet models. A good place to start would be the Le Tonkinois website - it is a hobby of the owners and they have amassed a lot of information, including some the manufacturer never intended you to access! http://www.letonkinoisvarnish.co.uk/

The Airtronic models are quite recent (but then, I'm old), e.g. D2 or D4. Earlier models start with either B (Benzene) or D (Diesel), then a size 2, 3, 4... representing their approximate kW output and then L (Luft) for an air heater or W (Wasser) for a water heater. As an example there is a D1LC model which has an external control unit and a D1LCc (compact) which replaced it, which has the control unit incorporated within the casing. On the Le Tonk site you will also find links to download manuals for every model of air heater.

Rob.
