Wire to dyneema mainsail halyard

Last boat came with wire/rope halyards which were replaced with dyneema after 9 years.

The old main halyard had a particular fondness for wrapping itself round the radar which was often annoyingly difficult to clear. Its replacement never did so.

the other issue is that if you or your crew left the wire rope halyard cleated at the mast, it will not only remove the anodisig but also wear a chunk out of the spreaders. I found this on my previous boat which had had a careless owner.
