Today marked the first of yacht racing at our club since total shut down for the virus 3 months ago. Home A glorious winter's day up to 24 degrees from about 6 no clouds very warm in the sun.
Almost every keel boat boat of the club seems to have come out for a recovery race. 26 starters plus another 16 dinghies. Everyone is excited including ol'will. (even with his boat at home) The down side, a bit of tide running contrary to the first leg and very light winds. 2 boats didn't make it to the start line another 2 only got about 500 metres. Still hot beef rolls in the club after and bar and restaurant almost back to normal. We seem to have this virus beaten or at least shut out with closed borders. 4 current cases all in quarantine and no community spread cases for a month. (1milion people) Winter solstice means things should start to get better with at least days getting longer although typically winter really starts now. ol'will
