Winter passage

[Quandary]

Yacht 'Mardling' just berthing in Stornaway after a fast passage from Ullapool this morning, elsewhere on the West Coast ferries are suspended and only the fishing boats are out. More east in the wind in the Minch than down here but I still don't think I would have picked today for that crossing?

Windy reports due East breeze, 20-25kts, so no swell behind and apparent wind of 20kts maybe. It will have been fun but like you I think I'd rather be beside the fire, it will have been proper cold.

20 to 25 knots SE so downwind. Sounds like a grand day out for the Minch, as long as the Blue Men are in good humour. ?
