Dreaming of sailing away in a few years time, but I know that income will be tight. I think renting out my house will bring in enough to survive on, but I don't want to sit around doing nothing and being completely skint, so I would rather work if I can find anything to do.
Would love to explore the Baltic but don't want the hassle of having to sail back to UK for the winter, or the expense of leaving the boat behind. Has anybody looked into winter work in the Nordic countries? Surely they have a ski season and will need bartenders etc? Not that I speak the lingo...

What other lines of work do people find to keep themselves busy, and top up the income?

Most people speak perfect English here in Sweden as well as in Denmark & Norway so you'd be ok with the lingo. Work wise no problems as Sweden & Denmark are in the EU, whereas Norway aren't so that could be more problematic.
Jobs for kitchen staff are always wanted both summer season as well as winter ski season.
