Noticed this weekend after a run last week, that my inboard 5.0 Mercruiser engine was damp on various surfaces. The engine bay has Fire ports and is vented.
Some weather forecasters are saying we are in for a bad winter. I shall be leaving her in fresh water for the winter and I cannot do the usual Antifreeze winterising, but only fogging as the stern drive with the engine water intake is under a washboard fixed to the stern and cannot be fully tilted out of the water.
So to help with protection, I thought of using an old duvet wrapped around the engine.
What could I use to help prevent corrosion of various exterior surfaces.
Use of such as WD40 or what would you suggest.
thanks
