I think the idea of a film or series about Mylor would be well worth doing and hopefully the powers that might be would agree.
Apart from the Marina itself there are some interesting stories surrounding the area. Just Google HMS Ganges Mylor to learn about the hardships of the training ship that was based there and of the boys buried in the churchyard. The church itself is worth mentioning.
Just a few hundred yards along the shore from the Marina is the Restronguet Sailing Club where Ben Ainslie learnt his craft.
Also the whole area was home to the American 29th infantry division many of whom perished in the D Day landings.Evidence of their existence can be seen up the river at Tolverne , Turnaware and the beach at Trebah in the Helford.
As to Mylor Yacht Harbour itself, did you notice that there were no piles guiding the marina pontoons? They are held in position by rubber bands which have to accomodate the 5m tidal range!
All in all a great place to keep a boat, even if in your case just over the coming winter.
