Any recommendations for a winter cover please?
We've had a quote and been surprized how expensive it was.
We will be boating between the Orwell and the Medway for the next 2 months ,so can consider any cover makers in that area.

Thanks Richard

We've just had a very complicated cover made for our boat by Dolphin Sails 01255 243366. Based in Harwich but work all over the area (we're Ipswich based).

When I say complicated, it's two halves and has three shrouds going through it and zips, buckles, shock chord and everything. Very reasonably priced for the work and the fabric and thread are guaranteed.....

No relationship other than as a customer.

A word of caution...... I had a winter cover made and bearing in mind the weather in the winter I asked for a really heavy, strong fabric. The resulting cover is so heavy that I can hardly lift it and trying to roll part of it back when I want to work on the boat is awkward and unnecessarily hard work. It will last for ever but I would suggest going for something lighter and cheaper and accept that it may only last a few seasons. He did not make my winter cover but I have had subsequent sails, sprayhood and dodgers made by "Sail Medic" in Ipswich. 'Excellent quality and I would thoroughly recommend him..... www.sailmedic.com..... 01473 721120

Thanks for the replies so far.
A lightweight cover is a good idea in every respect.
Interesting that all the recommendations so far have not included the one we tried.
