Agree with you. Gorgeous day BUT wave height here 4 metres. Calm? Did you say calm?

I'm looking forward to when I don't have to work. AND the boat will definitely stay in the water all year round then.

Yep I'm off out tomorrow for the day. Weather looks good, set to be sunny for most of the days but a bit chilly later. First stop Lymington then who knows where from there. Can't wait after a bad day in the office today! Yipee/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Other activities.

I love my boating during the summer months and enjoy doing non boaty things during the winter.

Apart from anything else, my wife would soon get fed up with boating if it continued all year round.

So you get the odd super day during the winter. Go off for a walk in the country with the wife and dog. Do one or two of those jobs your wife has been after during the summer. Go and play tiddly winks with your old man.

Hell's teeth, there is life outside boats!!

Re: Other activities.

I totally agree. We thouroughly enjoy being on or in the lake in summer, there really is nothing more relaxing than messing about in boats. However like Miket. Winter can be a time to catch up on other activities, like holidays abroad. Mountain biking, hill walking, shooting etc. Of course if we had a 40' cruiser it may be a different story. Ahh well one day !

What a woos/forums/images/icons/smile.gif Just got back, been playing around with Jake Kavenangh while he took pctures of Solitaire off the Needles and Hurst Castle. Got a bit wet heading back up the Solent, not too bad. Then went up to Portsmouth Harbour to take photographs of a Contessa 33 - yes chaps aYACHT. Back to the Hamble and home Powerskipper came along for the ride - well drove the photo boat most of the time. It was the first time she'd driven a Rib, she normal "drives" big boats. Brillant sunshine all day and great company - thanks guys. Boating in the winter? Best time to do it in the Solent - nobodies around!
