I know this general topic has come up before, but I'd find it helpful if anyone could give some ispecific idea of what it might cost for 6 months winter mooring in Barcelona for a 36foot boat - also whether living aboard permissable.

Port Olimpico is cheapest of the marinas in Barcelona, with a 36footer you'll go into the 12 x 4 band which for 6 months costs €1432 + 7%VAT. For that you would get a secure berth on a concrete pontoon, FREE water and electricity, showers etc..

Port Vell is full already, I believe.

The phone No: for Port Olimpico is (0034) 93 225 9220. Office hours 10 - 2pm 4pm - 7pm. There is normally an English speaking receptionist available. If you decide to try for a berth, say that Mr. Hill from "Golden Dawn" recomended as they are getting quite full already.

Living aboard is very fashionable, and on pontoon 7 there were over a dozen boats with liveaboards, and some of them are Spanish.

HI,

Sorry to be a damp squib but last time I was in Barcelona they were taking bookings for WINTER 2004 and this year is already full.

Having said that when I delivered a 36 footer there last winter the owner mamaged to talk his way into a berth once we had shown up!

To secure the booking Port Veil usually want a 50% deposit (non refundable if the berth is not re-sold). Port Olimpico were only asking for a 10% deposit but this gets very noisy in the night with Night clubs open on 3 sides from 11pm untill 4 or 5 am most nights.

Kev :-(

Night clubs only on one side, but yes BLOODY noisy, though I did sleep through it the last couple of nights.

Olimpico still has places but you have to be quick and if too late try A.P. Pro
