Your thread caught my eye as in a moment of weakness a couple of years ago I restored a 1979 Winner Cobra, see pic below. So I know a little about Winners, AFAIK Wildcats could be inboard or outboard spec, which is yours? If inboard it should be 17.5 feet long and 86 inches wide at the widest point. The boat weighs approximately 2000 lbs depending on engine, (which could be anything from 120hp t0 165hp), weight is with an empty fuel tank and without any gear or passengers. If outboard and around 1974 era is a Wildcat II & is still a 17.5 foot. The weight of the boat is 1150 lbs which does not include passengers, or fuel. The max rated horsepower of this boat, as listed by the manufacturer, (according to records) is 135 hp . (add the engine weight if its got one!)
A bit bigger than my Winner Cobra that was 15ft...
Hi thanks for the info, its an inboard volvo penta AQ170B/270 year 1973 in showroom condition . Hope to have some good fun with it next year. THANKS AGAIN PETER.
I have just aquired a winner boat. It as sold to me as a wildcat 1/812.
It has the volvo penta aquamatic inboard/outdrive. the boat is longer than a cobra but seems shorter than the wildcat. It has the cobra style front deck.
built around 1973 can anyone help?
i also have a winner wildcat.
they are a heavy boat as they are built like brick s**houses...
i run a tuned 5.7l v8 mercrusier/alpha 1 leg in mine so heavier still.
look at iboat forum.scroll down their frist page and you should find a index with winner listed their, lot's of usefull info on their..
(my boat is listed under recoil name).
trailor should be twin axle and a good tow car(tow mine with 4.0l grand cherokee)
you will find the winner to be a very good for water skiing.
also have a good rep for handling the sea.
not really an out and out speedboat,i get around 55-60 mph out of mine (even with over 300hp and yes some will say's its over powered),but i tend to stay around 30-35mph.cruse's along nicely..
enjoy the boat..i have for over 7yrs
