Windy Conwy

Am I still there? I hope so as I'll be there about 12pm and if not I'll have nowhere to sleep!:encouragement:

Spent the night aboard out on the river and just got off now. Amazing to watch the yachts bare masted heel over to 20 degrees in the wind. Seems we slept through the worst of it having a lazy Sunday lie while the kids busied themselves watching CBeeBies the free nanny.
Listened on 16 a while. Some poor lass, second time at sea, lost control of her boat with engines stuck on full power. Her inexperience plainly obvious over the radio. Full marks for Holyhead CG though, they talked her through it. Quite a bit of drama. Once she was safe we allowed ourselves a chuckle as RNLI reported her very ill. When CG queried she was seasick. Dont blame her for that though. The sea was rougher than a bears ass.

Checked yours Roy. The marina staff were out checking too. They retied the boat opposite you.

The wind was mental for a few hours, a lot of yachts were really heeling over and fenders become useless then.

Forgot to say, the hypothetical boat next to me was fine!

Bigwow, you were still there too, guess you're onboard and probably know!

Nasty wind over tide coming out of Conway, I was watching someone battering thro it on Saturday afternoon & I have been there myself in the past. Add in the overfalls off the Gt Orme & what looks like a jammed RR jib on the yacht I can understand the issues. I hope it hasn't put them off sailing, but maybe they will give the weather a bit more respect next time.
