Does anyone know what terminal does what on the solenoid ? I've searched the forum and found lots on fitting remotes but nothing like this solenoid
It is for an SL Seawolf 520 windlass which is a power up only.

The wiring was a mess and after having partially dismantled the wiring I had to leave it for a week. Like an idiot I forgot to take some pictures of the wires. It didn't help that some of the wires fell out of the crimps which is why I'm "improving" it.
I think that the wires I have put back so far are 'correct' that the red is the positive from the battery and the brown is the negative (no comments about wire colour please). The black from the windlass will go with the negative (brown) but which stud would the windlass positive go to ? I'm not to sure about the black cable with the yellow crimp.

The three 'push' fit terminals are for the foot switch but I need only one. I think that the black wire I have in place is correct and presumably a positive supply would go from red cable to the foot switch and then back to one of the push fit terminals. Should this switch wire be fused, possibly 5 amps and there wasn't a fuse for it. The main supply has a circuit breaker in place near the batteries so I'm not worried about that.
I just need to get this working well for this summer as I will more that likely replace and reposition it this coming winter as presently the chain drops into a very shallow locker.

Sorry, one of those I would need to have "Hands on" to to be sure off. However, for what it's worth that black wire on the terminal with the RED dot doesn't look right. I would hazard a guess, and only a guess, that, that terminal should be the Positive from the battery. Similarly I would equall guess that the terminal with the BLACK dot was the Negative. Are the other two terminals for UP and DOWN? and you only want the UP one?
EDIT:- OilyB may have it. If you disconnect his wireless unit and substitute your switch for the wander lead, with only one of the blacks being used you may be somewhere near. I was just going to say that I was not sure the black wire to the centre switch terminal was correct either.

Thanks all. It is power up only and not worth converting to power down due to its age. I suspect at least 30 plus years old as it is a Simpson Lawerence.

The wiring that I'm using is bigger than the wires from the motor and bigger than the ones that I removed so anything is an improvement !

As I mentioned in my original post, it only has to last this year as the locker is very shallow and I want to go all chain.
