The WindGuru app doesn't work with ios11 and there's no upgrade in the app store. Pity as I found it quite a useful app to have on the phone.

Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Yacht Weather is good and works with IOS 11

The windy tv app is pretty good on android, i am guessing that there is a version for apple.

Have you tried using it under the iPhone browser (Safari)?
I use Google Chrome on the Android and that works with Windguru as well as the App.

Yep, the app disappeared off iOS a while ago, bit like Mike, I use the website on Safari. Not found a better site yet.

Some usage tips for Windguru
These work for a registered user - not sure they are in the free version.
Also, this works for the new Windguru that came on line about a year ago.

I have set up lots of Favourite Spots that I then include into a number of Forecast Sets.
In each set, each Favourite Spot has a GFS forecast and a WRF forecast.

You can then click on the wind speed in either the GFS or WRF views to get the forecast map for that particular time and area.
Likewise, clicking on Pressure, Temp, Wind Direction and Cloud Cover etc - will take you to the appropriate Forecast Map.
On the PC, sometimes, you have to double click to get it to work.

Once in a Forecast Map you can maximise the window and pan/zoom around.

Yes agree, one of my sources and does work on ios

I have found that windfinder app on Android has been very accurate for me especially when I am offshore

I have used Weather Track for a while and found it to be very good with pretty accurate forecasts consistently.

Several apps will work - see http://weather.mailasail.com/Franks-Weather/Grib-Files-Apps. Most use the US GFS. Most give alternatives. Given that the GFS uses a 12-13 km grid (although output is on a 25 km, 1/4 degree, grid) it really is as good as anything else. From my experience, there is no point in using anything else, despite claims of greater accuracy.
