Windermere Steamboat Museum Plans Released

I'm being very professionally alarmist, Lakey, but you have posted frightening pics of high water levels and wind-blown surges in the past.

I am sure that someone local has suggested that there are worst-case design parameters to accommodate very high levels of water at the museum. The mockups, however, don't make that clear.

The Environment Agency figures show a max recorded rise of ~2.6 metres.

Good point, However the museum has had it's fair share of flooding on the wet docks, but the rest of the museum was higher.

I will bring it up when I go on Monday.

Hijacking the thread to post a picture of a super steam launch that was recovered as a wreck by my fathers boss ( JB Hickey) in the 1950s. Picture taken when restoration and rebuilding was complete on the day she was finally relaunched from Woottons boatyard at Cookham on the Thames. Mr Hickey at the helm.

I posted this picture several times in the last 6 years in the hope of finding the present owners so that I can pass on a collection on photos and a short magazine article written by Mr Hickey to them.

This week I have had a PM from the owner's Grandson so will now be able to pass it all on. YBW forums triumph again .. even if it took 6 years.
