Where is the best / cheapest place to store a dinghy on the banks of Windermere with access to good launch ramp or similar please and ball park what might it cost?
just had a great weekend there and as it's only a couple of hours away thought we might visit more!

Bring the boat with you and launch at Harrowslack on the other side for about £3 (if the warden can be bothered to take your money). You can leave a dinghy on the shore there for £80 a year.
You can launch at Fellfoot park where the South Windermere Sailing Club ( http://www.swsailing.org/ ) is based, but you won't get a space in their dinghy park (last time I asked they were more than full). If you don't want to race being at the bottom of the lake may not suit you. Royal Windermere Yacht Club ( http://www.royal-windermere.co.uk/ ) are keen for new members, but again I think the dinghy park is a bit full.
Next door is Old Fallbarrow Hall which has a dinghy Park, but it's £300 notes a year and the Old Hall is for sale so it may not be secure in the long term.
There is another spot near Finsthwaite on the West side of the lake with pretty secure launching and storage and beautiful lake frontage for lolling and picnicking, but it's about £300 per annum.
There is a spot at Low Miller Ground, but the place is public and not a good spot for leaving boats.

The top and bottom of it is that leaving a dinghy with mast, rudder and boom unattended is a bit risky.

I've sent you a PM about another place.
