My ST50 has given up. Should I try a replacement masthead unit? Or start again, maybe with a different make?

We got a tack tick one - looks ok and a doodle to install but I don't really like the wind arrow as an LCD thing but mostly dislike the way the wind often seems 30 or 40 degrees away from where I think it is - even after calbrating a few times

See if you miss having it before you do anything. I had a NASA one that I didn't like/use so removed it and fitted a Windex, which I much prefer and it can't go wrong...

We've just been through the research for a new wind instrument and have ordered an ST60+. One of the main reasons for choosing this was the display. I consider the LCD displays to be very poor in comparison to a proper moving needle. In direct sunlight the LCD screen is unsatisfactory.
