what power output are you seeking ? That has a bearing on the answers. Are you needing consistency of output during the whole day, utter reliability at critical times, is it backup for mains?
my Aerogen ?? is 20 yrs old still works only relpaced a set of bearings + 1 set of blades broke one blade ( & relpaced the set ) by the Marina when launching.
its not at all noisey gives 10 amps in 30 kts
The one that I have researched as the best so far is the 'Superwind' A German engineer has allegedly bough examples of all the ones available (Rutland, Aerogen etc) and tried to engineer a better quieter more efficient wind generator.
I was impressed with the sales person at the show and with the engineering.

Others may argue differently, but noise is the biggest problem in my experience, and the example of the Superwind that I have seen operating was remarkably quiet. I am told that Trinity house are changing over to Superwinds from one of the other big manufacturers due to quality and reliability problems.
Exactly my experience with an Aerogen. Great piece of kit.
Some designs are so noisy I don't know how the owners (or their neighbours) put up with it. Someone once said that the more modern the unit looks the more noise it will make, certainly this is what I have found.
When I looked last year the D400 was the best for power output. Having had one on the boat for 6 months I can say it's a good bit less noisy than the Rutland 913 I had previously and its power output is night and day better. Didn't look at the Superwind so not sure how that compares but I've certainly been very pleased with the D400.
