Wind Gauges

Can't bide this "she" stuff. It's just a boat to me. Named after our son, so it would be a little strange to call it she anyway.

Ahem, "She" is a Rustler
Well shes one to go off my list of boats, I know it gives more interior volume. I hate long raised decks cockpit seats (what do you call them) before you enter the cabin, enough to sit on but not too comfortably is maximum...

Really? They are the perfect length so you can lie down with your back on the bulkhead and your feet still dont interfere with the steering.

Sorry I described the area I meant really badly.... I mean the bit between the cockpit and the cabin companionway, where more than one step you are very exposed...

Not the actual cockpit seats either side.

I sailed on one cruising boat where I hated going into the cabin as you had to crouch through as you had spray hood above and raised bit below. Any weather and it would be difficult. I know its raised so water does not flood cabin to easily, but sometimes its a PITA.

Where the girl is sitting cross legged...

Actually the sprayhood is quite high. Anyway, I step straight from the top step into the cockpit and vice versa. The beauty of that area is that it is the best place to is on night watch. Sheltered under the sprayhood. Feet inside in the warm, snug coaming either side of you and good view forward and astern.

Oh, Cmon Rob, even our 'Vulpes' had one more than that, and a fishfinder too!
How else you gonna lure everyone else onto the putty/wet grass properly!:D
Dick

I've got speed and depth - what more could a man need :) ?

I'm just pleased that no-one has given me flak for having my anchor ball up and am showing 3Kn on the gauge - in my defence I was anchored in the River Severn with a fairly fast current flowing.

Your photo was too dark to even read the spd, mine is clearly showing 8kts :) but that photo is over exposed

Well, since Alice & I went out of Class, that's one easy way of racking up the Most Distance in a Season :D
Trouble is, what if it unwinds on the ebb, if anchored fore and aft....
