Can't bide this "she" stuff. It's just a boat to me. Named after our son, so it would be a little strange to call it she anyway.
Well shes one to go off my list of boats, I know it gives more interior volume. I hate long raised decks cockpit seats (what do you call them) before you enter the cabin, enough to sit on but not too comfortably is maximum...Ahem, "She" is a Rustler

Is there any convention as to which way round wind gauges go?
Really? They are the perfect length so you can lie down with your back on the bulkhead and your feet still dont interfere with the steering.

Sorry I mean the bit between the cockpit and the cabin, where more than one step you are very exposed...
Not the actual cockpit seats either side, I sailed on one cruising boat where I hated going into the cabin as you had to crouch through as you had spray hood above and raised bit below. Any weather and it would be difficult.
Sorry I described the area I meant really badly.... I mean the bit between the cockpit and the cabin companionway, where more than one step you are very exposed...

Where the girl is sitting cross legged...
Allow me to assist. This is my sole gauge. View attachment 29154
Southerly! How dare you!
Its a Rustler.
Oh, Cmon Rob, even our 'Vulpes' had one more than that, and a fishfinder too!
How else you gonna lure everyone else onto the putty/wet grass properly!

I've got speed and depth - what more could a man need?
I'm just pleased that no-one has given me flak for having my anchor ball up and am showing 3Kn on the gauge - in my defence I was anchored in the River Severn with a fairly fast current flowing.
