Wind Boats, Norfolk / 35\' Endurance

Does anyone know of "Wind Boats" of Norfolk. I gather that they built ferro boats to quite good standard. Did they ever sell designs for "home build"?

Also, does anyone have practical experience of the Wind Boats' Endurance 35 model?

Re: Wind Boats, Norfolk / 35\' Endurance

Windboats built some very nice ferro endurance yachts, with excellent fair hulls, they knew what they were doing. I've seen quite a few on my travels, they seem to stay good aswell, people look after them. a friend has a 37, it's still lovely and sound, if you are considering one, I would get a very good surveyor, who knows ferro inside out.

Re: Wind Boats, Norfolk / 35\' Endurance

Some years ago 70's-80's, their Endurance 35 won 'Boat of the Show' at Earls Court.
Unfortunately, the new owner ran it aground on a beach somewhere on the way up the East Coast, did not lay out anchors - the tide was falling - & when the tide filled again it was bounced & pounded to pieces on large boulders. Bloody shame, since it was a particularly well built boat. Article was in PBO or YW.
