Thinking about getting the Axiom plotter for our boat but all the youtube and web reviews seem to be on center console fishing boats.. I am not really interested in the sonar stuff.. Nowhere have I been able to find photos or video showing wind and sailing data being displayed on the Axiom plotter with the new Lighthouse 3 system..

Does anyone have any examples of the wind instrument type display on the Axiom? Does it look anything like that of the B&G which seems to show everything on the sail steer screen and or on the chart overlay..

I've just updated a Raymarine eS to lighthouse III today and it didn't have the Advanced Sailing Tools, although the user interface did look less clunky and faster than when it had been on II.

As to the Advanced Sailing Tools (sail steer on the B&G), this thread from raymarine seems to suggest it could be out this spring 2019 for lighthouse III

I must admit, I installed B&G Zeus MFDs about four years ago, mainly because of the lay line features..

I really like my Axiom.

On plotter mode, the boat's position, heading, predicted course line, tidal vector and wind arrow are all overlayed on the chart. Put it onto sailing mode and it looks like this:

The bar at the bottom is a red/green rudder position indicator, and all of the fields are all user configurable to display what you want.

To be honest whilst the Netflix thing is a bit of a gimmick, the Axiom is a powerful piece of kit. However, I went for the Axiom rather than cheaper options because (with the aid of the Sealtalk to Seatalk NG converter) it would talk to all of my other much older Raymarine kit. Having the wind and tide projected onto the plotter as arrows and numbers is pretty cool. If you don't have the rest of the RM suite, it's arguably less of an attractive proposition. But if you have RM it's a no-brainer...although just make sure that all of your other stuff is re-calibrated (pilot compass, log, wind direction) otherwise the Axiom will be showing some strange outputs.

You can also "split screen", for example for cruising, have just the plotter chart visible, or a 50/50 chart/wind display, or full sailing info as pictures above, or a split chart of large and small scale. All of it will repeat, and be controlled, from your tablet and smartphone too.
