I was trying to service one of my winches at the weekend. It is a lewmar s/t 2 speed ( not sure of number). the self tailing mech on top is held on by 4 allen screws. a 3mm wrench was too small and 4mm too big. I have been unable to source a 3.5 mm wrench . any ideas??

I'd strongly suggest you download a copy of the appropriate manual from the lewmar site, however the following occurs - all late model Lewmars are claimed to be serviceable without special tools, as the top screws off - if you need to remove allen keys therefore, it's probably an older winch, and being made in UK probablt imperial - is it a 1/8inch (~3.2mm) allen key you require?

But make sure you get a Quality one from a proper tol shop - not a cheapy set from a market stall - they are useless!
