Win a million - name game

Cadence was what I wanted to call mine, It was already on th epart 1 in London and Southampton and Hamble - thats why we ended up with "Cadenza"

It rarely rains for longer than four hours........

Re: Currency

Think I'll make it Euro's. Anyone who has made negative remarks about Europe and the Euro will obviously not be interested in collecting, will they TCM?:-))

Re the name

Name short list being drawn up this lunch time when me and SWMBO will be sitting down to eliminate the 30 or so currently on list. This will be after trip this morning to (lovely) physio who is still working on wrist, damaged this summer during last sail on former boat which was T boned on start line. (me diving forward to try and push other boat away!)

Will be having the naming ceremony on Saturday afternoon, all burgee bearers welcome, also inviting dealer chappie, marina bods and any peelweely forumites secretly reading in. First bottle open will be complimentary Moet given by dealer followed by Sainsbugs finest fizz currently on offer at £2.99 a bottle! (bargain of the week) Served in horrible placky glasses with tacky sailing logos on. At least the plates have little benny toe emblems on 'em.

To Be Confirmed

Can't call it that - Spacewaist has already got the name "Cadenza".

Running out of time now- you could end up with a name that then ain't allowed, and have to rename. So, tobeconfirmed is not bad. Or "mumble". Or summink welsh like LLachllcwchmiau, or Probabaly Come or Gwaesnaethau Services?

Hard luck, it's Esprit de Llyn 2 else all that being pleasant last year a total waste of time.

T-boned

It's true, took deposit on boat mid August on condition I use it till end of month as on hols. Following week-end go for long distance race with pal, decide to let him steer as he is normally pulling ropes. "whatever you do don't get involved in any start line jousting, the boat is sold" I tells him. It was blowing a good 5 and piping to 6 so I knew we wouldn't finish. Heavy port bias on start, "go below these boats I say as can see someone charging up on stbd, "we'll be ok Dave" "drop down below them we aren't going to make it" "Oh shit he says" I dive forward and leap at other boat to push his pulpit away - bang! T-boned, amazingly not much damage to boat, bruise on gunwhale and split wooden toe rail. Now me, that's another story, hence the physio. Suffice to say that I won't try that again in a hurry! Only saving grace was I reckon it would have brought the rig down had I not got there.

We carried on for an hour then turned back as it was getting stronger, when the leaders got to the mark, about 8 miles away, it wasn't there so the race was cancelled! The sale went through OK after I made an allowance for the damage.

It was then I decided that benny toes aren't such a bad ol thing after all:-))

Re: GOT IT!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be pessimistic but I'm sure that name is on a Ben in the Ben Owners Assocation! Double check?

G\'eau Carte

. . . . G'eau Carte . . .
that's just great Ken.
Gonna look 'round for something to name G'eau Carte.
The dog, maybe.
Or perhaps one of those wheelie water containers.

P.S Translated, does it mean Water Board?

I'm in the phonebooth. It's the one across the Hall
