A few years ago I had dropped my anchor ( windlass was broken) and I really struggled to pull it up. I had to keep stopping for rests. When I finally got it up there was a fridge on it. I would have given a lot for a working windlass that day.

I was anchored in the Ray Gut near Southend on Sea to watch the Air Show. It would have been ok if there was something in it apart from rust.
