Will receive AND send ais work through antenna splitter?

Installed my Matsutec transponder. I was showing up on Marine Traffic app with vhf antenna plugged directly into transponder, but with it connected via splitter I’m not showing up. Would/should it make a difference?

I’m currently at Ha’penny Pier so if any ais-equipped Shotley berth holders are aboard this eve I’d appreciate it if you could see if you can see me. Boat is called Cocos

We have a powered splitter and the Raymarine AIS650 works send and receive via the same antenna as the VHF.

Two types of splitter, one for receive only and one for receive/transmit, make sure you have the correct one.

18:14 no sign of you on AIS at Harwich.

EDIT: Correction, now showing up, inside the pier.

Thanks Paul, it’s working then.

Seems so, i left it on my tablet and kept an eye on it for a while, transmitting every 3 minutes, as it should.

Don't rely on Marinetraffic in the harbour, it seems hit and miss here. VesselFinder seems to work better in Shotley.
