WiFi on the boat - advice pls

Brilliant! I had not thought of SWMBO using a different co for hers.

If this MiFi works as planned it could reduce hugely the number of accounts and costs - frankly i am thinking of getting rid of the home land line too as everybody uses mobile to call me and I get so many free minutes on my mobile account I use that iso the home phone most times.

slightly confused, care to explain what's the difference between wifi hotspot and tethering? I had the impression it's the same thing.

Tethering was when you used a physical USB cable to connect your phone to a PC or Mac and use the phone as a data dongle. It has now been replaced with wifi hotspot which all smart phones Now support.

However the term 'tethering' now broadly refers to same using wifi, Bluetooth or USB. As others said check your provider for additional charges or limits.
