Wide flange skin fitting

The flanges on skin fittings are narrow and I don’t see why. Does anyone have a source for wide ones??

'What sort of size of flange are you looking for,

sometimes I make ny own with a bigger flange that I can through bolt the flange as with Blakes

Less material = less manufacturing cost ... decant size backing plate is best option.
