Why do Mystery 35s not have spray hoods?

It would seem a fair few Mystery owners feel the same.

Your prejudice is showing !

2 out of 6 without so far on this thread not a significant sample of ownership choice yet to make any observations of preference.

It is just as probable that the 2 observed by the OP were possibly owned by back to nature kilt wearing tight wad masochistic mysogenistas......

Should we set up a poll?:)

The whole point of this thread was that the OP has noticed Mystery's without; and not having one is not prejudice it's choice.

Making out that the only way to sail is with a sprayhood because that's what you like, that is prejudice.

I am tired of this thread, good bye.

Sprayhood or no sprayhood (and I'd have a sprayhood - but then, unlike many, I sail all year round), that is one beautiful boat.

Thought he'd never go!!!!

Perhaps it is worth pointing out that while not the only boats that have passed the window without hoods this year, (there have been a couple of others, though nearly all the WHYW fleet had them), these two were single handed, perhaps there is a clue there. The last one, indeed, looked thoroughly miserable and did not seem to have achieved our friend's joy in communing with the elements.
He would not have been any drier with a hood but at least he would not have to close the boat up tight, cutting off his access to home comforts.

BTW. The hood has been off our own boat now for a couple of weeks as there will only be short day sails between now and lift out, she does look ever so pretty without it.
