In drainer is a hole approx 2" diameter. It's bugged me since I bought the boat (although not enough to do anything about it) and I have no idea what it was used for. Beneath the hole is the drawer, and beneath that is the engine. All it does now is drip water into the drawer when I wash the dishes :(

Does anyone have any idea what might have been fitted there?!? It will probably be easier / neater to replace the fitting than to fill the hole!

Possibly, but it's cut into a curved / contoured area so it seems a strange place to mount something. There is also a hand pump (the white bit in the top right of the pic) in addition to the pressurised water system.

Looks to me like someone's dropped something in the past, when they've been doing the drying up... :))

Agreed. It certainly looks to me like accidental damage. The shape doesn't look cut. What are the edges like?

Doesn't look as though it would be easy to full with a fitting. On the other hand, if you can get decent access from below (by taking out the drawer) then an acceptable repair should be relatively simple.

Well worth the repair job but on the other hand you will never get it to look invisible. Consider new stainless steel or plastic sink/bench top. good luck olewill
