So I had a problem with the prop of the outboard (in Greece). It would go slowly OK but when the revs increased, the speed did not. Turns out that the bushing inside the prop had disintegrated. I was sold a new propeller. I have been told by a UK Yamaha dealer that this is correct and that the the bushing cannot simply be replaced.

It is hard to understand why the bushing cannot be replaced. Does anyone know someone who might do this, so I can then have a spare prop for when it happens again?

Thanks

dont know about that but I did know some one who made a temp' get you home repair by putting 4 small self tappers equi' space into bushing through prop center didnt use full revs but it lasted till he got a new prop

I would speak to Steel Developments, they will be able to give you an honest answer. They have re-bushed a number of props for me in the past, including an old Yamaha 2 stroke prop.

Thanks. However, I emailed the company and they do not rebush props under 15HP Looks like I would have to buy a new propeller to keep as a spare

Seems a shame
