I would have thought it more likely that A14 bridge scrapes Oyster!!

I once saw a very large load stuck under a railway bridge on the old A11, when we returned later that day it was still there, and they had just finshed letting all the tyres down so that it could squeeze under. :D

Doesn't look like it actually touched the bridge, the tarpaulin isn't even disturbed.

The newspaper report linked in post #2 states it was being transported from Fairline in Oundle, when did Fairline start building boats with big keels ?

Oyster hulls have always been subcontracted. Most were built by Landamore in Norfolk, who were recently taken over by Oyster. Perhaps the resurrected Fairline operation is pricing very competitively? Or perhaps the news report is just wrong?

We once clipped a bridge with the arm of a 360 excavator and we knew damn well it was under the height limit, albeit only by two inches, cos two of us had measured it three times each

The council went oddly silent after they'd sent a man out to measure the bridge and very rapidly thereafter the road surface was being planed down by several inches!

We suspected the police knew already because they really did not want to discuss it with the driver or myself (I was training the driver) and wanted us gone from the scene pdq even though the roadworthiness of the lorry was dubious

Got a funny feeling that boat is sitting the the haven yard as i thought i saw it last night whilst dispersing some youths that were being a pain in the arse.
That is correct thats where she is.
im told that the driver is a regular on the delivery & was told there was clearance "just" . unclear if it was stuck, or just stopped, it did have to reverse back to the A12 A14 junction

It looks to be one of the larger ones that used to be delivered by sea for fit out if it is a new boat. If so a change in procedure with damaging results! If it's a pre owned one going to Oyster Brokerage then red faces all round. What I can't understand is that she would have passed under other bridges on the A12 or A14 beforehand with no problems. I thought there was a standard height for bridges on national "trunk roads". Obviously not, or the road has risen or the bridge been strengthened and height above road restricted.

the rail bridge b 4 Ipswich central is the lowest on the A 14 ( dont know about Needham Mkt)

Isn't that what Sailorman was telling us belonged to Richard Mathews of this parish Will? The chap who own Fox's and keeps his MB at the Haven in front of Spirit Yachts?

You are attempting to lead people up the wrong path for some reason. Changing company names doesn't change the beneficial owner and many of us have access to Company House. You pay your berthing fees to one of his companies and it is in the interest of posters here to know they maybe replying to a post from their berth owners. It is unfriendly of you to deny us this information unless of course this is just another of your mistakes and you don't really know what you are talking about again.

Squibber this is the East Coast Forum. If you want an argument go to the lounge, vent your spleen and then come back refreshed and ready to let the inane drivel we specialise in drift right past you.

I do NOT lead anybody anywhere chummy.
Oyster Yachts were sold to a private investment Co who then sold it on (at an alleged huge loss) to a Dutch caravan maker some 3 yrs ago.
You think what you like Squibbers old chap
