Who is the oldest of us all (including your boat age) ?

96 excluding various dinghies. There was a Flying Fifteen at Grafham Water with a combined helm/crew age of 178. If you add in the age of the boat pretty close to 200.

117 years, close but no cigar.
I think Rueben Frost's oyster smack 'Boadicea' would take line honours, built in 1808!
(Assuming we are talking about sailing vessels in regular use on the water, not in a museum etc).

What a lovely cutter and she looks quick as well.

Re Benbecula/Myfanwy.
When Rob Mason (Milford Haven) bought her about eight years ago she was literally falling to bits. Those bits that hadn't fallen-off were rotten in large areas.

He rebuilt her himself in his garden almost totally by himself; with some mast, metal-work
and sail-making
assistance. He had made larger headsails than when we had her, which doesn't detract from her original appearance and makes her much livelier. I think he said she exceeded nine knots crossing the Irish Sea/St. George's Channel. Not bad for 21ft waterline (36ft overall !)

Sorry about the thread-drift. PM me if anyone wants to know more about her.
