who has had copper coat done on their hull

Still working well on Evenstar 3 though I think she is ready for the 7 year light sand.
The common theme seems to be "Get it done Professionally". I am sure there are many competent DIYers out there but with such a big investment it's probably not a good idea to scrimp.

As others have mentioned Elessar (Mark) is the guy to talk to, this is what he does for a living and anyone who has spent more than 10 mins talking to him will know that he is 100% dedicated to his business and his customers.

Cheers Andy :)

She may just need it by now. Use coarse scotchbrite, you don't want to go back until it is completely brown, but it will have a browneyness coming through the green. It will take an hour or 2, but not anything like as as much as stripping old antifoul, sanding, priming and repainting. The average time between blasts for people with the old stuff is 7 years. Your dust will have copper particles in, so wear a mask.

I had our first boat done with Cuprotect. Fantastic, as Elessar says, you only then need a lift and hold for anodes and props - much cheaper than blocking off and relaunch. Also no mid season lost of performance. The work was done when our boat had been out of the water for 9 months +, having tmajor ransplant surgery, so the hull was completely dry - I don't know how necessary that is, perhaps others can advise. it can also serve I believe as an osmosis inhibiting coating, so an extra benefit. Our second boat we only had 20 months and so didn't 'copper coat', but I will be looking to have current 45' model done at some point professionally - if I can get a good quote. our problem is being 100 miles east of the Solent!

Just had our Trader 44 done by Fox's in Ipswich and they appear to have done a thorough job for a very fair price.

We applied coppercoat to the LennyVee ourselves three years ago. The coppercoat has stuck firmly to the hull so far, BUT.... it seems the barnackles love it. We are berthed in the river Teign, where shellfish are cultivated. Not so much slime though. Those pesky barnackles take some shifting.

You should get zero barnacles on coppercoat. Has it gone green and what did you burnish it with before first launch?
If a few grew before it oxidised, then the cement traces can allow more growth.
I suggest:
Remove all trace of cement with brick cleaner.
Burnish again which needs to be with 500 grit or scotchbrite, anything courser and the scratches can allow a juvenile barnacle, which is the size of a pollen, to get a grip.
