Ah, but what you didn't realise was that he wanted to use his fishfinder and using 2 engines would make the boat go too fast /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
i tend to do most things onboard, but anybody on board gets to helm, in open water and do all the other tasks, i tend to do engines stern glands etc. but there again the crew i normally have are just warm bodies to pull ropes etc. would love to havecrew who really knew what they were doing, oh, joy! I also tend to be a little too polite when aboard, and ask nicely, until it's very urgent!!
I do it all except fenders.
That also includes all the shouting at crew blaming them for my mistakes, all the cleaning, all the cooking, all the bodge ups and all the paying, still SHMBO never asked for a Boat for her Birthday in the first place.

My wife does an excellent job of handling lines and fenders and she willingly drives the boat on open water, but refuses to dock it in spite of the fact that at a Sea Ray ladies' day training she flawlessly docked a brand new 51ft Sundancer stern-in in a cramped marina. And without a bow thruster!
I do all the wash down and external tlc, plus mech and elec stuff, oh and nav. I also do grilling on our gas grill, but she does rest of food prep. There, does that give you the picture?
Happy New Year, Pauline. Hope to meet you (really) in May/June when we are over there.
