Im thinking of going for the full tinsell and tree with lights on board this year- I think a tree doing 30knots in an open cockpit would be quite novell! Anyone else going for the seasonal additions?

Yep! I`ll have a tree, with lights on my bow and decorations inside the boat, always do, it`s traditional. Mind you I do live aboard!

The Thames Barges at Maldon all had real trees complete with lights hauled up the masts last year- They looked fantastic, if a little weird!!

My Xmas spirit is in a bottle were it belongs.
I wouldnt say it was a "Dumb idea" as such. But I am just not doin it. Of course the Mrs may have different ideas in which case I am doin it !!!

Talking of the Mrs I went out for 30mins last night only to return to a different front room. You know the script "I thought we would have a change" says she. Settee and Chairs Tables and Telly all moved. Now this has been tryed before and has never worked and has always ended up back the same way, due to size and shape of room there is only one feasable way. I knew it would not last however I did expect at least a day instead she lasted a further 30 mins before admitting it was a crap idea and moved it all back. Is this a record ?

Womens perogative- 30 mins is bl**dy fast!! At least with a boat the majority of the fittings are bolted down or moulded in place- no chance of her having an on board re-jig whilst youre at the swindlery!!!

Good point Brian
I knew I spent all that money on a boat for a reason. It is so I can get some routine in my life in familiar surroundings.
