A supplementary Q - what do you in the way of prep with hairline cracks / spidering in the gelcoat?

I prefer epoxy filler but, unless I'm going to paint, I'd use whatever I could find that best matched my gelcoat. It's actual colour, that is, not its theoretical colour from when it was new!

I didn't know they did "Manky old boat" as a colour or was it "dolphin breath"? Or "seasick green"

Nothing as common as that : "White tie" described as "Our prettiest white is named after the old, pre-brightened, starched cotton used for white tie jackets. " International paints won't give you a description like that!

Does that mean it's a bit yellow, doesn't go on like it used to, and smells of mothballs?

I have a similar project where I will have to repaint the stern scoop due to damage and holes that I needed to repair and was going to use the following:

5kg Pack White Topcoat

Does anyone have experience of this? I have used internally and a great finish and a very reasonable price.
