I need a quote for the insurance claim. I need to get a price for the deck repairs where the stanchion bases have been ripped out and for the replacement or substantial repair of the 'pushpit'.

I asked at the marina, but they don't do work themselves so need to find someone else.

could be that road transport her might be a cheaper & more cost effective option

Do the insurers have any recommended repairers? If they have and you use them, they will probably do a good job, knowing that that will bring more work

There was somebody based on site in the black shed where IBS are now that did some very tidy GRP work on a boat in the yard last year - I think he went mobile when he stopped renting the shed. I'll try and find out details for you

Brookland Marine, based round at the marina, do GRP repairs but I've no idea how good, bad or indifferent they are

For fibre-glass repairs try Rob Stockwell of RMS Mouldings Ltd. - 07519170265. I think he might be the "Brookland Marine" guy referred to in the previous post.

He's local and works at Fambridge much of the time. When I damaged my own boat (don't ask) he did a good job on the repair and also brought in the other people needed to get the job done. (It also needed some stainless steel work and a rigger to ensure the mast would stay up while the repairs were made.) No connection, just a satisfied customer.

Second Rob, great at most things & knows who is good at what he can't do. Go down the pontoon & look at "Atlas", he extended the swim platform by 18" & aranged the woodwork, try & spot the join.
