I think I've finally found a decent whistling kettle.
Willow & Everett Whistling Kettle... Amazon.co.uk
I've had several over the years and all have disapointed. Often they were cheap lightweight camping kettles. One was an expensive "fast boiling' type but was naff. Variously the whistles were rubbish, too quiet or stopped working altogether. On one the handle and whistle were plastic and melted in use, nearly caught fire while on passage. Luckily a crew member was below and noticed before it became a major issue!!
Linked kettle has high pitched loud whistle, heavy base, and a remote finger catch to open the spout, & important parts are stainless steel.
I paid £20 and am very pleased with it so far.
