I have a couple of LED large flashlights ... jokingly called Beamguns !! They run of the 6V / 12V SLA batterys ... which of course after a while die ....
So its out with retired LiPo batterys from my model flying. When they no longer can supply the high power demand of my models - but can happily trundle along at low demand - I use those in the 'Beamguns' .... slightly more voltage ... able to deliver the amps and because I have Li chargers that run from car ciggy sockets or mains - are ready to use and charged easily / quickly.
On my old Soviet speedboat ..... I bought a Motorcycle LED driving light ... about 2" diameter ... runs of 12V. I mounted that centre front of windshield and gives me excellent light ahead to find my way !! My private mooring channel has overgrown entrance and its hard to find once sun goes down !
