which suction hose pls ? UPDATE

I need some lengths of suction hose for the two replacement manual pumps.

The old hose (now hardened, 10 yrs perhaps ?) is reinforced with criss-cross polyester cords. Not easy to find in 10m lengths.

The wire-reinforced hose is easier to buy from Pirtek but I have memories of an earlier wire-wound hose being a real pain to push on to a spigot, and also, in a salty bilge, the wire rusts and goes brittle at the ends.

Any alternatives please ? Or a good supplier near Exeter or Plymouth pls ?

Try Force 4 in Plymouth. I bought some re-enforced hose there a couple of years ago - they had a big reels of the stuff

Masons, used to be Bridger, in Exeter might be an alternative source.

Some follow-up.

I have found a company specialising in hoses. Including a suction hose reinforced with PVC, rather than steel wire (which can rust).
They are good at answering phone questions, too.
