does anyone know where i would find out the right size that would suit the engine came with the wrong one here is the details
mariner 60hp 1997
5500 rpm
the boat is a 19ft+orkney day angler all help would be appreciated

sorry i forgot to mention the boat is only doing 12kts
i only know the max rpm because it says on the side of the engine

Sorry from your 1st post I understood it was reving to 5500revs, 12.5kts sounds slow, have you got a rev counter thats what you need to tell if you are getting the correct revs, by the way you would be better posting you question on the motor boat section.

My old man has one of these standing (retired) in the garage, which he used to push his old "Q17" along at riddiculous speeds. I seem to remember him using a 12.5" pitch if the boat was going to be heavy (ie full to brim with nets), or 14" if we simply going out for a bit of fishing. If I remember rightly I believe that they were originally sourced with 16" pitch props, but this was a good few years ago now. I can ask for confirmation next time I see him if necessary.
