Need to put a couple of drops on the thread of the propshaft to hold the prop on.

I usually use blue locktite and as such just ask the chandler for blue.

Amazon sell 242 and 243.

Which one do I need.?

We use and recomend Araldite 2011/precision for under water fixings. It has a low melting point so you can heat the shaft/nut for removal. B&Q have it in small tubes if you can't find the locktite you want.

if i can put a split pin through then I will.

Changing the prop for a feathering one and there may not be enough of the thread exposed after placing the nut to get a split pin on.

You thinking of just putting the pin through the shaft ???

Pin the nut to the shaft. Either by using a castellated nut or by drilling though nut and shaft ... ?

I may well be out of date on Loctite, but for hanging cameras on Harriers we had Loctite 221 for 'undoable in future' and 290 for 'unlikely to ever undo again ! '.

For something like a propellor though I'd want something positive locking like a castellated nut and split pin, as mentioned.

My uncle who ran an engineering workshop used to tell different grades of Loctite by taste; I did mention he's my late uncle didn't I ?
